I’m really proud of this!
#InspireGood is designed to provide a support network that connect businesses and charities, so that they can work together and learn from each other.
Clare Aitken and I founded the group in September 2018 when we realised there was a gap for the private and voluntary sectors to network and do business together.
We know that companies can play much more supportive roles than just providing finance for charities, and networking initiative Inspire Good is designed to do just that.
Since then we’ve brought together over 200 charities and businesses, have over 250 members on our Facebook group along with support and commendation from The NatWest Accelerator Hub, The Federation of Small Businesses, the Chamber of Commerce, the Institute of Fundraising and The North East Initiative on Business Ethics.
Each meeting highlights a local charity and includes a training session delivered by a local business and the feedback has been tremendous from the private sector and charities alike.
To date, we’ve highlighted charities including the Chronicle Sunshine Fund, Derwentside Breast Friends, Jessica’s Sarcoma Awareness, Project Parent, and Feeding Families.
We also give members the opportunity to discuss issues and ideas with and participate in training sessions that isn’t always accessible to business owners and employees.
Training has included goal setting, presentation skills, bid writing and fundraising, and decision-making with effective prioritisation.
